Chances are, this isn’t the first outpatient treatment page you’ve read. You’ve probably scoured the internet, looked over multiple options, and are overwhelmed by all the possibilities.

“What even is an outpatient program? What makes it different from the other eight programs I looked at today?”

“How do I know this place will actually help my loved one?”

“This will be the fifth facility we’ve tried if we send them here – will it be different?”

A 2019 study determined around 80,000 Arizonans were in treatment for substance use disorders on any given day. Even though that’s a pretty big number, we can guarantee entering treatment wasn’t an easy decision for any of them. At Wolf Creek Recovery, we hear that directly from the people we work with daily.

Let us help you make this decision easier. At the very least, we want you to leave this page a little more equipped for the recovery journey than you were before. Let’s answer some of your questions about outpatient treatment, and talk about how Wolf Creek can help.

What We Treat: Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders

We offer treatment for all substance use disorders and any mental health conditions that come along with them. When two or more disorders are diagnosed concurrently they are often referred to as dual diagnosis, co-occurring, or more clinically co-morbid disorders.

Our goal is to give you long-term care so you can achieve and maintain recovery, no matter what you’re going through.

How We Treat: Outpatient Programs at Wolf Creek

Outpatient treatment usually involves coming to a facility for therapy a few hours a day, a few days a week. The exact amount of time is different for each program and person, but the biggest thing to remember about traditional outpatient care is that you go back home each day. There are traditionally two types of outpatient treatment: intensive outpatient programming (IOP) and regular outpatient programming (OP). IOP requires more time and therapy than OP.

Wolf Creek’s outpatient is different than what you may have experienced before. We have a similar time commitment for treatment hours but also provide housing for everyone in the program the entire time. Clients will attend therapy at our facility during the day, and then head back to our housing once they’re finished.

What Are the Services and Behavioral Therapies Offered in Our Outpatient Program?

We offer a range of behavioral therapies at Wolf Creek, so everyone will be able to find something that works for them:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) –helps you turn negative thought patterns into more productive ones
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) – teaches you how to better manage strong emotions
  • Motivational Interviewing – helps you find new goals and motivation for your recovery
  • Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) – helps you change the beliefs that cause harmful actions and feelings
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) – uses small hand and light movements to help you process trauma and react to memories in a healthier way
  • Family therapy – enables entire families to heal, communicate better, and build more positive relationships

We already covered the housing we provide, but another unique aspect of Wolf Creek is our outdoor adventure therapy. We’re located in the beautiful Prescott, Arizona, so we like to take advantage of our surroundings and row, camp, and paddle board. We also play different sports, like softball, tennis, basketball, and golf, just to name a few. We think having fun is an important part of healing, and outdoor therapy comes with the bonus of building teamwork, improving problem-solving skills, and developing relationships.

What Is the Most Common Outpatient Rehab Timeline?

The exact amount of time spent in our program will depend on the intake assessment each person gets when they enter care with us, and their own goals. Each person will need different care, and that’s why all the treatment at Wolf Creek is individualized to meet everyone’s unique needs. We’ll work together to find the right length of time for your treatment, setting you up for success in recovery.

Cost of Outpatient Rehab Treatment: Does Your Insurance Cover It?

We can’t speak for all outpatient treatment, because once again, each facility and insurance provider will be different as far as what is and is not covered.

Wolf Creek accepts most major insurance policies. We know finances can be a big source of stress, so if you have any questions, give us a call and we can walk you through everything, including verifying your insurance and providing an estimate of your out-of-pocket expense.
