Asya Perkins, MA LPC, has a unique background, bringing both clinical expertise and personal experience to the Wolf Creek team. After experiencing years of trauma and substance use in her own life, Asya was able to recover and help others in need. She understands the freedom individuals can achieve when they face their demons, address the underlying causes of substance use, and recognize the patterns, emotions, and beliefs that can trigger relapse.
Asya specializes in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a treatment technique that involves moving the eyes in a specific way. This gives the brain and nervous system a chance to integrate new information into old patterns, and unlocks the potential for life-changing healing and growth. EMDR is a safe, efficient, and evidence-based tool Wolf Creek clients can use to claim this freedom.
Asya has been sober since 2005. After her journey, she decided to turn pain into purpose and began providing mental health therapy in 2011. She continued her selfless path by becoming trained in EMDR in 2017. Asya has worked in substance abuse treatment, community mental health, and a psychiatric hospital’s step-down facility, serving children, adults, and military veterans. She serves in many different roles, including primary therapist, trauma therapist, DUI educator, clinical director, and licensed clinical supervisor. Asya currently operates a private practice in Prescott, and is thrilled to be providing EMDR to people fighting for sobriety, as part of the amazing team at Wolf Creek!
