Addiction is a progressive disease that doesn’t get better on its own.
The good news is that substance use disorders can be successfully treated with the right combination of care. The recovery process starts with detox, goes into therapy and then branches off to aftercare as people transition back home.
However, many people are uninformed when it comes to how long they need to spend in treatment. There’s a misconception that people only need 30 days to get sober and return to regular life. While 30 days is a great start, it’s usually not enough to treat addiction.
Here at Wolf Creek, we encourage our clients to look at addiction treatment as a spectrum. By moving through this continuum, clients are able to transition through various levels of care while having support to guide them. In other words, we meet the client where they are and prepare them for reintegration.
Wolf Creek’s Extended Care Program is an extended program beyond 90 days. We realize that not everyone is able to spend several months in a recovery program, but we highly suggest it if you can. Those who participate in a program of this sort have improved outcomes.
